Hello, Hat City.

I used to go to Danbury a lot when I was much younger. And by "Danbury" I mean "the Danbury Fair Mall." I also went to the actual, honest-to-goodness Danbury Fair, once, but all I remember about that was my parents walking along swinging me by the arms and my shoulder coming out of its socket. So essentially Danbury = shopping and pain.

But there is more to the Hat City than that. Its historic Main Street recalls a time when men didn't just manufacture hats but wore them, too, and women wore ruffled shirtwaists and floor-length trumpet skirts. I almost wished I was wearing a ruffled shirtwaist and a floor-length trumpet skirt. Because I wasn't quite conspicuous enough walking along taking pictures of little details on all the buildings...
