Anyone who knows me well knows how much I hate spring. This year I resolved to try to hate it less. The tactic has worked well for me with winter, which I used to thoroughly despise, but I now merely dislike. Part of my attempt to enjoy the damp, chilly, bleak months before summer suddenly arrives involves anticipating them as something positive. I am trying to think of spring as something to look forward to, so that when it arrives, I will be happy to see it. I'm hoping.
On that note, and on this cold day, I give you flowers (and a few other sights) from the 33rd Annual Connecticut Flower and Garden Show, held last weekend in Hartford.
Every gardener makes a list of spring flowers during the dark days of winter, and looks forward eagerly to the first burst of spring color. site
