Nutmeg Poisoning

Today's Nutmeg Poisoning (a semi-regular Friday post in which I collect some of my favorite Connecticut-y findings of the past weeks and months) has a photographic theme.

-Searching for I-forget-what recently, I came across the mostly Connecticut-centric blog Journeys Through My Lens and ended up spending far too long perusing galleries of abandoned buildings, bridges, and graffiti. There are also some neat random finds like Local Farm in Cornwall.

-I admit, I love Instagram (follow me there by clicking here.) One of my favorite Connecticut photographers on Instagram is Valerie Randall, who's based in Stonington and takes the most amazing pictures of (mostly) the southeastern part of the state. Another is Jessica Collins, who lives in Fairfield County and makes everything look extra pretty. Also check out Liz Rueven, the blogger behind Kosher Like Me, who takes gorgeous food shots. And finally (for now) Sean Elliot of the Day, who somehow makes New London and its environs look wonderfully shiny.

-If you've ever looked up a Connecticut town on Flickr, you have probably come across Jerry Doughtry's photos. I don't know anything about this guy except that he lives in Windsor Locks, according to his profile, and he's been everywhere and photographed everything. Think you've found some obscure building that no one else in Connecticut knows is there? It's on his Flickr.
