Geer Hill Schoolhouse, Ledyard

To the impatient driver of the large pick-up truck behind me, who must have been wondering what the hell I was doing in Ledyard the other day: I was ogling this little schoolhouse. Sorry.

Ledyard once had fourteen of these, and it seems so many are still tucked away somewhere that the town might have even more extant one-room schoolhouses than Killingworth.

The New York Times calls this place of winding back roads and quietly retained history, "the other Ledyard." Because they think Ledyard = Foxwoods. I would submit, however, that that is the other Ledyard, and this is the Ledyard.
