"The People Shall Have a Park."

This is the same statue in this post. She looks much less miserable now that the weather is warm and the fountain is running. I tend to anthropomorphize statues. I can't help it. There's a Nathan Hale near where I live whose hands and feet are bound - actually this applies to almost all Nathan Hale statues - and every time I see him I think how sad it is he's been tied up all these years. And the Alice Cogswell statue in Hartford just disturbs me, this little girl standing in the middle of a busy intersection.

But, this post isn't about statues. It's just a little ode to Wilcox Park in Westerly, RI.
