Drivin' On 9

This post has a soundtrack. And that's not the 9 that goes from Old Saybrook up to 84, it's the one in New York State. I managed to escape from Connecticut for a little while - yes, all the way to the next state over, oh, the excitement. These photo are of Wappingers Falls. I realized it's been a long time since I've been anywhere I didn't have to, or want to, think about. I didn't feel the need to delve into the past history of everything I saw - or the present of it, for that matter. It was all just a blur of Dutch street names and Hudson River views and that messed up speed limit thing NY has going on. I didn't think at all about what it meant, or what I could write about it. I didn't worry about what county I was in. I just wandered around, like I used to do before I knew what a blog or a query letter was. It was very unlike me. I need to do it more.

  1. I am so happy that I am not the only one who thinks of this song...it pops into my head nearly any time I have taken Route 9 since I first heard it back in the 90s.

  2. Glad I'm not alone:-) Actually probably more of of my life than I care to think about has an unconscious 90s music soundtrack...
