Back To School

Remember the village of Barkhamsted Hollow, drowned in the creation of the Saville Dam? I mentioned in the linked post that the local schoolhouse was one of a few buildings to escape the inundation. And here it is: the Center Schoolhouse, now located in an above-water part of Barkhamsted. (And here's a bonus fun fact from the Barkhamsted Historical Society: When the schoolhouse was first constructed, it was two stories high. In 1880, it was converted into a one-story building. What remains is the original second floor.)
