Fine Print

At this point, I'm pretty sure I know a schoolhouse when I see one. Sometimes I pass them by, but when I spot a particularly interesting one, or one that's a little different, I try to stop. This one, I thought, was worth turning around and parking and walking across muddy grass and nearly falling down a hill for. (Almost anything in Middle Haddam is worth that.)

But then I saw the sign on the front, and it said "Christ Church Parish Hall." I felt ever so slightly dejected. I had been so sure it was a schoolhouse. But I took my pictures, and went on my way.

And then I got home and looked at my pictures.

And so, I give you: the Christ Church Parish Hall, formerly Northwest Middle Haddam School, built 1842, acquired by Christ Church in 1940.
