Cedar Hill

Oh, those wacky Victorians, builders of follies and promenades and houses with whimsical turrets and rural cemeteries, where graveyard meets public park.

This is Cedar Hill Cemetery in the south end of Hartford, a classic example of an American rural cemetery. (I wrote more about it here.) Cedar Hill celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. And though it turns out winter may not be the best season to visit, you might want to put it on your list for spring.
